Over the years, I have been to Allman's in Fredreksburg numerous times and the Richmond location several times. It doesn't matter which you go to---they are both first class. The bar-b-q is wonderful, the seuce is great, and the cole slaw is out of this world.I can remember when you could get a bar-b-q special for $.85. I now live in the western part of the state, and wish there was an Allman's closer.- Is follow up to post by bkarnold ...
The sauce is ok but the meat just tasted like meat. It didn't have a smokey flavor or any other flavor than meat. If you like ordinary down-home cooking, you might like this place but if you're looking for bbq with a lot of flavor, look elsewhere. The staff was very friendly. -- 2/23/2004 9:15:47 PM
